Food plays a big part of the Military Brat experience—from food on base to the food of the cultures and countries we found ourselves in.
Many military bases and posts are isolated, so the food served there takes on a special meaning, especially for children growing up on on military installations. But also the food found just outside the main gate, in a town where everyone has an accent, can be a special experience also.

I was a growing teenager when I lived in Germany, so I needed food, and lots of it! I still have some fond memories of my time in Germany involving food. Where to begin? How about the base snack bar. Cheap, basic food maybe, but it sure tasted good.
