When Things Go Bad
For some of us, growing up in a military family was a very negative experience. Unlike civilians living in one place, Military Brats move constantly, often without the community support safety nets which are found in most cities and towns.
While many Military Brats remember often fondly the moving to strange places and seeing places and people they will never forget, other Military Brats remember much darker experiences including parents fighting, alcoholism, depression, abuse and more.
The dark clouds of war and conflict has affected every generation of Military Brats, with many soldiers experiencing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and there is always the chance that a father or mother may not return from deployment alive.
Yet life goes on.
